Alignment of Seals ("A" Pillar to Side Rail Seals)

^ The new windshield header weatherstrip has elongated holes for the retaining screws which enables inboard/outboard adjustment of the weatherstrip.

^ If a flush side surface fit cannot be achieved by the windshield header adjustment slot, then side rail flange adjustment will be necessary.

^ Hardtop flange adjustment requires a wooden block and hammer.

^ Softtop flange adjustment is best accomplished with flange pliers. Refer to Figure 11.

1. With either the convertible top latched in position or the hardtop fitted, inspect the "A:" pillar sections of the windshield header weatherstrips for bulges or wrinkles due to clamping compression. Refer to Figure 12.

2. To correct, remove weatherstrip from "A" pillar flange, stretch weatherstrip downward until concern is not evident, reinstall the weatherstrip to flange.

^ With the windshield header weatherstrip now correctly aligned, unlatch the top, remove the retaining pull tapes, press the weatherstrip firmly. Refer to Figure 13.

Fill the retaining screw hole in header weatherstrip with RTV silicon. Refer to Figure 14.

Fill the convertible top frame frontrail seal screw holes with RTV silicon. Refer to Figure 15.

HARDTOP WATER LEAKS

The following diagnosis should be used on vehicles with hardtops fitted. For softtop only vehicles proceed to page 25.

1. Door sliding glass to seal leak. Refer to Figure 16.

2. Hardtop siderail weatherstrip carrier leak. Refer to Figure 18.
