ISSUE: "Rattles" and "squeaks" may come from the "B" pillar at the convertible top side tension wire attaching points. This is caused by movement of the "Z" link inside the pivot retainer.

ACTION: Apply silicone rubber over the side tension wire "Z" link to stop it from moving inside the pivot retainer. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

Figure 1:

1. Unhook the convertible top from the rear retainer and fold the rear section forward, Figure 1.
2. Fold back the convertible top side fabric to access the side tension wire "Z" link and pivot retainer.

3. Apply black silicone rubber over the "Z" link, Figure 1. Repeat this operation for the opposite side of the convertible top.

4. Attach the convertible top to the rear retainer.

5. Latch the convertible top, allowing the silicone rubber to cure with the side tension wires tight.
