Main Link Protectors

^ Apply a small amount of glue to the inside surface of the protector (Refer to Figure 37).

^ Fit the main link protectors to the rear side of the convertible top main link, i.e., short link which is welded onto the number 3 bow. Refer to Figure 37.

NOTE:
Remove any foam tape and ensure the main links are clean.

The following procedures (replacement of # 5 bow) should only be undertaken on vehicles built March 31, 1991 and prior.





The vehicle's date of build is detailed on the certification label. Refer to Figure 38.

The Vehicle Certification Label is affixed to the left-hand door jam below the latch striker. The upper half of the label contains the month and year of manufacture. The exact day of production is stamped under the hood on the driver side strut tower area.
