Fitment of Linkage Stops

1. Inspect for fitment of linkage stops and fit if not present.

2. Lower the convertible top assembly into the stowage compartment.





3. Remove the two rearward mounting bolts of the convertible top hinge assembly mounting bracket, discard the two washers. Refer to Figure 31.

4. Loosen but do not remove the front mounting bolt.





5. Insert the main pivot supports (linkage stops) between the convertible top hinge assembly bracket and the body structure attachment plate. Refer to Figure 32.

6. Lower convertible top, hand start and tighten rear bolts.

NOTE:
Retorque all mounting bolts to 19-25 N-m (14-18 ft.lbs).

NOTE:
The linkage stops are initially adjusted to have an exposed thread length of 12-14 mm. Refer to Figure 33. If necessary, fine tune the adjustment to gain maximum height of the convertible top in the stowage compartment while maintaining convertible top stowage lid closing efforts to within tolerable levels.
