Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. Remove battery and battery tray.
2. On all models except Taurus, remove ignition coil.
3. On Taurus models, remove air cleaner assembly.
4. On all models, remove transaxle oil dipstick.
5. On all models except Taurus, disconnect all hoses and lines from air management valve, then remove the valve from transaxle valve body cover. Also, disconnect fuel evaporator hose from frame rail.
6. On all models, disconnect neutral safety switch electrical connector.
7. Disconnect electrical connectors from fan motor and temperature sending unit.
8. Remove valve body cover bolts, then the valve body cover and gasket.
9. Remove valve body bolts, then the valve body and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedure to install.
Installing Valve Body:
2. Install guide pins to properly align valve body before tightening attaching bolts. One alignment pin may have to be temporarily removed to allow attachment of manual valve.
3. Ensure roller on end of throttle valve plunger engages cam on end of throttle lever shaft.
Valve Body Bolt Tightening Sequence:
4. Refer to tightening, sequence in Valve Body Bolt Tightening Sequence image, and torque valve body bolts to 6-8 ft lb and valve body cover bolts to 7-9 ft lb.
