Removal
1. Remove A-pillar and B-pillar interior trim garnish mouldings.
2. Remove plug button.
3. Cycle shoulder belt to A-pillar.
4. Remove shoulder belt anchor plug button and bolt.
5. Remove two screws retaining drive belt track to motor.
6. Remove one screw adjacent to motor, retaining drive belt vertical guide.
Drive Belt Replacement:
7. Carefully disconnect drive belt track from motor allowing belt to pass by gear teeth without engagement.
8. Remove limit switch from A-pillar bracket.
9. Remove screw from front A-pillar switch retaining bracket to A-pillar.
10. Remove two screws retaining front A-pillar switch bracket to track assembly.
11. Gently slide shoulder belt retainer forward off track.
NOTE: Drive belt should slide out of track with shoulder belt retainer.
12. Remove shoulder belt retainer from drive belt.
Installation
1. Insert drive belt at front of track to A-pillar. Prior to drive belt installation, lubricate track using Emralon 329 (meets Ford specification ESBM99C71-A) or equivalent (drive belt and guide track).
Emralon 329 can be purchased through: Adheson Collids Co. 1600 Washington Ave. Port Huron, MI. 48060.
2. Install retainer into large slot at front end of tape.
3. Slide drive belt in track rearward until end is located approximately 12.7 mm (1/2-inch) in the upper track slot.
4. Align sprocket holes in drive belt with sprocket teeth.
5. Engage track locator on switch bracket into slot in A-pillar. Attach A-pillar track switch bracket to A-pillar and track assembly.
6. Install limit switch.
7. Return belt anchor to position at B-pillar.
8. Pull webbing out of retractor at console. Allow belt webbing to lay flat on seat with no twist.
9. Locate and align anchor notch and install retaining bolt.
10. Install belt attaching shoulder belt. Tighten screw to 30-43 Nm (22-32 lb-ft).
NOTE: Use new screw N804772-S190 following any service done to shoulder harness.
