REMOVAL

1. Remove four throttle body bolts. Ensure that throttle position sensor connector has been disconnected from harness. Disconnect air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect air bypass hose.
3. Disconnect throttle control cable and, if so equipped, speed control cable.
4. Disconnect and remove throttle bracket.
5. Carefully separate throttle body from upper intake manifold.
6. Remove and discard gasket between throttle body and upper intake manifold.
NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage gasket surfaces of throttle body and upper manifold assemblies, or allow material to drop into manifold.

INSTALLATION

1. Ensure that both throttle body and upper intake manifold gasket surfaces are clean.
2. Install upper/throttle body gasket on two studs of upper intake manifold.
3. Secure throttle body to upper intake manifold with four retaining bolts. Tighten to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 N-m).
4. Install throttle bracket and secure with two nuts. Tighten to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 N-m).
5. Connect throttle position sensor electrical connector and air bypass valve hose.
6. If fuel charging assembly is still mounted to engine, connect engine air cleaner outlet tube to throttle body intake, securing it with a hose clamp. Tighten clamp to 23-30 lb. in. (2.5-3.4 N-m)
