REASONS FOR Engine cooling fans on some of the affected cars may
THIS PROGRAM loosen and contact the fan shroud. This may result in
damage to the fan motor that can cause it to become inoperative. Engine damage could result if the engine cooling fan becomes inoperative, and an operator should fail to react to the instrument panel engine coolant temperature gauge.

VEHICLES The following 2.3L engine and A/C equipped Tempo and
AFFECTED Topaz cars are affected by this program:

IN CARES/OASIS CARES/OASIS will be activated since owners are asked to
return their cars for service.
PROGRAM The service for this program is available during the
PROVISIONS basic vehicle warranty coverage period or through

Disregard basic vehicle time/mileage limitations through August 1990. Owners are encouraged to return their cars as soon as possible to have the engine cooling fans replaced.

REFUNDS Any owner who has paid for the repairs described in
this program will be refunded the costs of parts and labor. Repairs must have been made prior to the receipt of the notification of this program.

SPECIAL SERVICE Refer to Technical Instructions on Attachment I. It
PART INSTRUCTIONS may be necessary to review parts sales records of certain
fans sold over-the-counter by your parts department or body shop. See the special identification information on Attachment I.

OWNER Affected owners will be notified with the letter shown on
