Attachment IOWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM B90 TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS. CIRCULATE THEM TO YOUR PARTS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL. QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO YOUR FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER OR SUPERVISING FORD LOCATION.
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
Replace the engine cooling fan on all eligible cars returned for service. Refer to the 1990-model shop manual.
PARTS ORDERING INFORMATION
Service parts for this program must be ordered through normal order processing channels direct from Windsor.

Cooling
Some fans provided to dealers and sold over-the-counter by your parts department or body shop may need to be replaced. Identification information for these parts is provided below:
^ All fans requiring replacement are service part number E73Z-8600-A and have 11 blades.
^ The fans have a manufacturing date code from August 1, through September 24, 1989.
^ Manufacturing dates are molded as dials in the front face of the fan hub. The shift, month, day, and year are indicated when reading the dials in a clockwise manner.
^ Engineering part number F03E-8600-AA is also molded into the hub.
If you know of fans having the description and manufacturing dates shown above sold from your parts department or body shop, contact the purchasers of the fans and replace them with fans having part number F03Z-8600-B. Replace the fans at no charge.

CLAIMS PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
Engine cooling fan replacement provided under this program will be performed at no charge to owners during the basic vehicle warranty coverage or through August 1990, whichever provides greater coverage. Disregard basic vehicle warranty time mileage limitations through August 1990.
Claim Forms 1863 for this program must include standard claims preparation procedures and the information shown below. Program number B90 must be entered in the Program Code box in the upper left of the forms.

REFUNDS
Refund requests submitted under Owner Notification Program B90 are governed by the following guidelines:
Owners seeking refund for repairs covered by this program, which were performed at their expense prior to the receipt of the notification of this program must present their paid repair orders or invoices to any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership.
A copy of the paid repair orders or parts purchase receipts must be retained in your service file for at least one year following the date of Company notification of payment.
Owner refund requests must be submitted on separate warranty Claim Forms 1863. In addition to the information shown for the special preparation of Owner Refund claims (Reference: Warranty and Policy Manual), please enter the information shown below:

An administrative allowance of 0.2 hours will be allowed for processing each eligible owner refund request. To claim the allowance, enter ALLOW in the Labor Operation No. column and 0.2 in the Scheduled Time column. Extend the 0.2 hours at your authorized warranty labor rate and enter the result in the Amount column.
Please provide prompt refund to all eligible owners who respond to this program with proper repair documentation regardless of the source of the original repair (your dealership, another Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership, or a repair location other than a Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership).
