Ignition Lock Replace

1. On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag system as outlined under Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair/Airbag System Disarming.
2. On all models, disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Rotate ignition switch to the Run position, then working through steering column lower shroud, Fig. 3, depress lock cylinder retaining pin with suitable 1/8 inch drill.
4. Pull ignition lock cylinder from housing.
5. Rotate replacement lock cylinder to the RUN position, then while depressing retaining pin, insert lock cylinder into housing. To ensure proper installation, rotate ignition switch through travel.
6. Install battery ground cable, then ensure ignition lock operates properly.
7. On models equipped with airbag, reactivate airbag system as outlined under Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair/Airbag System Disarming.
