Air Dryer: Service and Repair

Do not replace any system component without first performing the system diagnosis procedures. Replacement of satisfactory components may result.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air line from dryer by pushing down on retainer and pulling air line outward.
3. Remove air compressor electrical connectors, then disconnect air dryer electrical connectors.
4. Remove air compressor at mounting bracket.
5. Remove dryer to compressor attaching screw.
6. Turn air dryer clockwise to disengage from compressor.
7. Remove air dryer and O-ring.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new dryer O-ring.
b. Torque dryer to compressor attaching screw to 15-25 inch lbs. Torque compressor to mounting bracket to 30-40 inch lbs.
