External Vent System

External Vent System:

This system is used to relieve fuel bowl pressure caused by fuel vapor formed in the fuel bowl during hot engine off conditions.

When fuel vapor pressure builds up in the fuel bowl, the external vent allows the fuel vapor to be vented to a carbon canister. Disposing of these fuel vapors helps prevent hot engine starting problems that could arise if the vapor remained trapped in the carburetor.
