Float Level

Float Drop:






FLOAT DROP
1. Remove the upper body assembly. Fabricate a gauge to 36.33-37.84 mm (1.430-1.490 inches), if necessary.
2. With upper body assembly held in upright position, place gauge against cast surface of upper body and measure vertical distance between cast surface of upper body and bottom of float.
3. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL for float drop specifications.


Float Level - Dry:





4. To adjust, bend stop tab on the float lever away from hinge pin to increase setting and toward hinge pin to decrease setting.
5. Install new upper body gasket.
6. Install the upper body assembly.


FLOAT LEVEL

Float Level - Dry:





1. Remove carburetor.
2. Remove upper body assembly and upper body gasket.
3. Fabricate a gauge to the specified dimension, if necessary.
4. With upper body inverted, place float level gauge on cast surface of upper body and measure vertical distance from cast surface of upper body and bottom of float.
5. Check float level specification, refer to SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL.
6. To adjust, bend float operating lever away from fuel inlet needle to decrease setting and toward needle to increase setting.
7. Check and/or adjust float drop.
