REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (Continued)

Mirror, Rearview-RH or LH Sail Mounted, Remote Control Removal
1. Remove trim cover retaining screw and loosen the Allen setscrew retaining the control to the cover. Remove cover.
2. Remove the rearview mirror retaining nuts and remove the mirror.

Installation
1. Position rearview mirror in its mounting position and install retaining nuts. Tighten retaining nuts to 2-4 N-m (20-36 lb-in).
2. Position mirror control in the cover and tighten Allen setscrew.
3. Position the cover in its mounting position and install the retaining screw.

CLEANING

Mirror, Outside Rearview

CAUTION: Outside rearview mirrors should not be cleaned with a dry cloth or abrasive cleaning powders. Do not remove Ice with a scraper. The mirror should only be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent and water or Ultra Clear Spray Glass Cleaner D4AZ-19CS07-AA or equivalent, otherwise damage to the reflective surface may result.


Frozen Mirrors

CAUTION: Outside manual remote mirrors which are frozen must be thawed prior to functioning. DO NOT attempt to free-up the mirror by pressing against the glass assembly.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Mirror Glass Removal

1. Push the inner edge of the mirror glass into the housing.
2. Grip the outer edge of the mirror glass and pull out until the glass snaps out of the motor assembly.


Installation
1. Line up the locking tabs of the mirror glass to the housing as shown.
2. Firmly push the glass into place with the palm of the hand until it locks in.

DESCRIPTION

Mirror, Power A RH and LH electrically powered outside rearview mirror is available. The switch for controlling adjustments is located on the floor console. One control switch operates both RH and LH mirrors, and selection can be made by moving the selector switch to the LH or RH position to control the appropriate mirror requiring adjustment. The switch is designed to tilt the mirror up, down, left or right by depressing the push button on the arrow indicating the desired direction.




Mirror Glass Removal and Installation
1. Push the inner edge of the mirror glass into the housing.
2. Grip the outer edge of the mirror glass and pull out until the glass snaps out of the motor assembly.
NOTE: WHEN REMOVING THE GLASS, A SNAP WILL BE HEARD. THIS IS NORMAL AND DOES NOT MEAN THE DRIVING MECHANISM HAS BEEN DAMAGED


1. To install, line up the locking tabs of the mirror glass to the housing as shown.
2. Firmly push the glass into place with the palm of the hand until it locks in.

1. Remove snap-in cover.
2. Remove armrest from door trim.
3. Remove remote mirror bezel from armrest.
4. Loosen setscrew retaining control assembly to bezel.
5. Remove rearview mirror retaining nuts. Remove mirror and control assembly.

Installation
1. Position rearview mirror in mounting position and install retaining nuts. Tighten to 3-4 N-m (25-36 lb-in).
2. Position control assembly to bezel. Tighten retaining setscrew to 0.23-0.68 N-m (2-6 lb-in).
3. Install remote mirror bezel to armrest.
4. Install armrest to door trim panel. Refer to Section 45-03.
5. Position snap-in cover to door.

CAUTION: Outside rearview mirrors should not be cleaned wlth a dry cloth or abrasive cleaning powders. Do not remove ice with a scraper.
