QUICK TEST: Test Description


SPECIAL NOTES:

^ This diagnostic procedure is used ONLY on Tracer vehicles.

^ The QUICK TEST procedure should be used ONLY when the Diagnostic Routines, Section 55-01 directs you here.

^ If all phases of the Quick Test result in a PASS, it is likely that the problem will be found elsewhere. You should return to the Diagnostic Routines in Section 55-01.

^ When directed to a Pinpoint Test, look carefully at the Schematic on the first page of the Plnpoint Test and read the STOP-WARNING below the schematic.

^ Any time a repair is made, the negative battery cable should be disconnected, and the brake pedal must be depressed for 5-10 seconds, then Steps 3.0 through 6.0 should be repeated to ensure that the repair was effective.

4. Engine Running Self-Test

5. Continuous Self-Test

6. Switch Monitor Test (Vehicles built after 11/2/87 only).
