You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when a service code 01 is received in Quick Test Steps 1.0 through 5.0. This Pinpoint Test will not diagnose ignition system problems.

To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-MECS areas may be at fault:

^ Fuel: Quality and Quantity

^ Ignition: General condition, moisture, cracks, damage, etc.

^ Engine: Internal, valves, timing belt, camshaft

^ Starter and battery circuit

This Pinpoint Test and wiring diagram are intended to diagnose only the following:

^ Spark (as related to EEC)

^ Circuits: (PIP, ignition ground, vehicle power)
