Emissions Recall 91EO7 - Exhaust System Catalyst Replacement on Certain 1988 and 1989 - Model California Tempo and Topaz Cars


AFFECTED VEHICLES
1988 and 1989 - Model California Tempo and Topaz cars equipped with 2.3L engines having one of the following calibration codes:

8-25C-R00 8-26E-R00
8-25F-R00 8-26R-R00
8-25Q-R00 8-26T-R10

REASONS FOR RECALL
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Ford have conducted in-use tests and have determined that some of the affected cars may be releasing oxides of nitrogen emission levels which exceed California standards.

SERVICE ACTION
Cars returned for service will have the exhaust system catalysts replaced at no charge.
