Knee Diverter: Service and Repair





Removal
1. Remove two screws from steering column opening trim panel and remove panel.
2. Remove four bolts securing knee bolster to instrument panel and remove bolster.

Installation
1. Position two upper knee bolster holes over nuts on instrument panel and loosely install two bolts. Tighten to 7-11 Nm (5-8 lb-ft).
2. Position knee bolster so holes on lower flange align with respective clearance holes in instrument panel lower reinforcement.
3. Install two bolts attaching bolster to instrument panel lower reinforcement. Tighten bolts to 7-11 Nm (5-8 lb-ft).
4. Position steering column opening trim panel to instrument panel making sure clips are installed in retaining holes. Secure with two screws. Tighten screws to 1-2 Nm (9-17 lb-in).
