Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge Service Program, Number 93M82, to owners of all 1988 and 1989 All Wheel Drive (AWD) Tempo and Topaz cars.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
The fuel pump in your car may become abnormally noisy or may not operate properly. A noisy or improperly operating fuel pump could be caused by a seal in the fuel pump wearing prematurely. This condition could cause reduced fuel pressure which may result in hard starting, loss of engine power, or stalling during hot weather.

NO COST SERVICE
If your car should experience this condition, your dealer will replace the fuel pump. This no-charge service is available for 6 years/60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from original warranty start date, or through August 31, 1994, whichever provides greater coverage.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The time needed for this service is about two hours. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.

CALL YOUR DEALER
Ask for a service date and if parts are in stock.

If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.

When you bring your car in, give the dealer this letter.

If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

REFUNDS
If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, Ford is offering a full refund. For the refund, please show your paid work-order to your dealer.

CHANGED ADDRESS OR SOLD THE CAR
If you have, please fill out the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to us.
