Volt Meter Gauge: Testing and Inspection

To test the voltmeter, turn the ignition switch On, turn headlamps On and set heater blower fan on High with engine stopped. The meter pointer should move toward the lower portion of the normal band (white portion of scale). If no movement of needle is observed, check battery to circuit breaker and circuit breaker to cluster wire connections. If connections are tight, and meter shows no movement, check fuse and wire continuity. If fuse and wire continuity are satisfactory, remove cluster from vehicle. Check for flex circuit to clip terminal continuity. If circuit is satisfactory, replace gauge.
