TRIM - INTERIOR - "B" PILLAR UPPER FINISH PANEL LOOSE - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 9/01/88

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1988-89 TOPAZ


ISSUE: A "B" pillar finish panel that comes loose from the door scuff plate may be caused by the "B" pillar panel expanding during temperature changes.

ACTION: Install two (2) trim screws through the "B" pillar panel to hold it to the door scuff plate. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

FIGURE 2:

1. Realign the "B" pillar panel to the door scuff plate, Figure 2.

2. Install two (2) trim screws, one on each side of the "B" pillar panel as shown in Figure 2.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on the other side of the vehicle.
