owners will be mailed labels with instructions to install the labels. If an owner should return to have a label installed, refer to the following for labor allowance and claim processing information.

REIMBURSEMENT

Submit claims using the 1864 format on the DWE screen. Refer to your Warranty and Policy Manual Section 6.3 pages 5-8. Use an original repair order for your service record file.

LABOR ALLOWANCES

Attach the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label (Cars in Dealer Stock or Those Returned For Service).

0.2 Hrs. - Insert in Box "B" on Form 1864

Note:
Add 0.1 Hour Administrative Allowance to the total repair time.

LABEL ORDERING INFORMATION

Labels will be direct shipped to the owners of affected cars for this action. When an owner returns requesting a label, order the label from your FPSD District Office. Refer to Attachment II to determine the proper label to order.

SPECIAL TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

WHEN THE OWNER RETURNS WITH THE LABEL AND CLEANING PACKAGE

Obtain the label and cleaning package from the owner, read the instructions for removing the old label and removing the adhesive.

WHEN THE OWNER RETURNS WITHOUT THE CLEANING PACKAGE

The cleaning of the adhesive after the old label is removed, requires the use of 91% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Percentages of less than 91% will not effectively clean the label attaching area. USE ONLY 91% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL TO CLEAN THE LABEL AREA AND TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PLASTIC SIGHT SHIELD AND THE NEW LABEL.
