ISSUE: The two step torque settings shown under Step 6 on page 21-12-19 of the 1989 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual have been modified. The footnote 4 in the Torque Specifications chart for 3.0L Engines on page 21-12-49 of the 1989 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual has been modified and changed from three steps to two steps.

ACTION: Refer to the pages following this TSB article for the updated torque specifications and corrected procedure.
