Compressor

Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge A/C refrigerant from Schrader valve on compressor, following all safety procedures.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at electro-magnetic compressor clutch.
4. Loosen compressor bolts and remove compressor drive belt.
5. Remove compressor from bracket.

Installation
1. When installing new compressor, .7-.8 ounces of refrigerant oil must be drawn off new compressor before installation. Carefully open sealing plug on low pressure side so that pressure is released slowly, then turn compressor over and let oil run out.
2. Install compressor on bracket, torquing bolts to 40-44 ft. lbs.
3. Connect electrical connector for electro-magnetic clutch and install pressure and suction hoses, installing new O-rings moistened with refrigerant oil.
4. Recharge A/C system.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
