Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

The vehicle speed sensor monitors vehicle speed and transmits that information to the ECA to provide an input for lean cruise operation and to support idle speed control. The sensor also sends the vehicle speed signal to the fuel computer, speedometer, speed control and the transmission kickdown relay.
