Removal
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect parking brake cable from bracket, Fig. 16.
4. Remove front caliper slide pin bolt securing piston housing to anchor bracket, Fig. 17.
5. Separate piston assembly from brake rotor, then remove brake pads from carrier bracket.
6. Turn piston clockwise into housing using piston adjuster tool No. T87P-2588-A or equivalent. Ensure one slot in piston will engage with tab on back of brake pad during installation.
Installation
1. Position brake pads in carrier bracket, then install caliper assembly over brake rotor. Ensure anti-rattle springs are properly positioned in housing and tab in brake pad aligns with slot in piston. Adjuster tool No. T87P-2588-A or equivalent may be used to align piston if necessary.
2. Install front caliper bolt, Fig. 17, and torque to specification.
3. Connect parking brake cable, then install wheel and tire assembly.
4. Lower vehicle, then pump brake pedal several times to properly position brake pads before operation.
