Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
All Quick Tests are performed in the passenger compartment using the EEC-IV Breakout Box and Harness Adapter. These tests lead to a specific Diagnostic Test that will in most instances, identify the fault. If the fault is not found by the Quick Test, use the Diagnostic Indicator Lamp Symptom Chart to identify the proper diagnostic procedure.
If the Quick Test does not isolate the symptom, it will be necessary to check the operation of the Brake and Anti-Lock indicator lamps. Observe the lamps and compare their on/off operation to the conditions listed on the chart. Once the actual warning lamp pattern has been matched to one of the conditions listed in the chart, perform the specific test indicated.
