Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview


1. Ensure the parking brake is fully released, the brake warning lamp switch is not grounded, and the batter has been visually checked for damage.
2. Ensure the contacts of the 35-pin electronic control module harness connector are properly inserted and are not damaged.
3. Check the 35 contacts of the electronic control module assembly. If there are any damaged contacts, replace electronic control module assembly.
4. Ensure all the following wires or connectors are attached:

a. 7-pin connector of the valve block unit.
b. 2-pin connector of the main valve.
c. 5-pin plug of the combined pressure warning switch.
d. 2-pin and 3-pin connectors of the fluid reservoir cap.
e. 2-pin connector of the motor wire.
f. ABS electronic control module relay.
g. ABS pump motor relay.
h. ABS main power relay.
i. Ground attachment on front of hydraulic booster assembly.
j. Ground attachment on passenger A-pillar near 35-pin control module plug.
k. Ground attachment wire from hydraulic unit to fender sheet metal.

5. Check that all diodes, relays, fuses and fuse links are intact or properly inserted.
6. Check that all battery cable connections are clean and tight.
7. Check the ground terminals of the electronic control module and the hydraulic unit.
