Power Lock Motor Test
Motor
Apply 12 volts (+) directly to front door motor unit electrical connector Pin 1. Apply ground to front door motor unit electrical connector Pin 2. Brief application of ground to Pin 3 should retract door motor unit plunger. Brief application of ground to Pin 4 should extend door motor unit plunger. The plunger must extend or retract to the limit of travel in less than one second.
NOTE: Never reverse electrical connector pin polarity to test opposite direction of motor travel. Component and/or wiring damage may result.
Apply 12 volts (+) directly to rear door motor unit electrical connector Pin 2. Brief application of ground to rear door motor unit electrical connector Pin 3 should retract door motor unit plunger. Brief application of ground to rear door motor unit Pin 1 should extend door motor unit plunger. The plunger must extend or retract to the limit of travel in less than one second.
NOTE: Never reverse electrical connectors pin polarity to test opposite direction of motor travel. Component and/or wiring damage may result. The motor (activator) rod must complete travel in less than one second.
Motor current draw must not exceed 2 amps in either direction. Common system current draw must not exceed 8 amps. Connect motor terminal No.2 to 12 volts to test opposite direction of travel.
