Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

Sensor Assembly:

The In Car Temperature Sensor Assembly, located behind the instrument panel above the glove compartment, contains a bimetallic sensor that senses the passenger compartment air temperatures. The vacuum output level is accomplished by means of a control arm attached by a cable assembly to the temperature control lever. Primary air is ducted to the sensor via a tube from the blower stream providing the power to operate the aspirator for the in-vehicle sensor. The moulded seal installed on the brow of the sensor opening ensures continuous sampling of only the passenger compartment air across the air temperature sensing bimetal.
