17-02-3 Shift Control Linkage

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Starter Interlock Cable Removal

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remove three lower RH finish panel retaining bolts.

3. Carefully pull lower RH finish panel to disengage retaining clip.

4. Remove four lower RH reinforcement panel retaining bolts and remove reinforcement panel.

5. Remove steering column lower cover.

6. Remove starter interlock switch.

7. Remove floor console. Refer to Section 45-31.

8. Remove starter interlock cable retaining bolt at gear selector assembly.

9. Cut starter interlock cable.

10. Remove both pieces of starter interlock cable.

11. Remove CD player. Refer to Section 35-01. Installation

1. Install starter interlock switch to steering column.

2. Route starter interlock cable to gear selector assembly. View position through CD player opening.

3. Install starter interlock cable to gear selector assembly.

4. Install CD player. Refer to Section 35-01.

5. Install floor console. Refer to Section 45-31.

6. Install steering column lower cover.

7. Install lower RH reinforcement panel and tighten retaining bolts.

8. Position and install lower RH finish panel.

9. Install and tighten RH finish panel retaining bolts.

10. Connect negative battery cable.

11. Check operation.
