FORD: 1989 THUNDERBIRD, TAURUS

ISSUE: Excessive engine crank time, (about two to three seconds) during a second start attempt, after the first attempt has failed may be caused by an out of time firing sequence between the engine and distributorless ignition system (DIS). The ignition key should always be turned to the "OFF" position to allow the DIS ignition module time to reset the firing sequence before a second start attempt.
