ISSUE: EEC IV pinpoint test "A" EEC IV No Start, "N" Ignition/Erratic and "P" Spark Timing Check are incorrect as published in the 1989 Engine/Emissions Diagnosis Manual, Section 17-5, 17-310 and 17-322. The Diagnostic schematics did not include the 3.0L "SHO" and 3.8L "Supercharged" crankshaft sensor connectors or the ignition coil connectors.
ACTION: Use the pinpoint diagnostic information on pages 15 through 20 of this TSB article. This information should be inserted in your 1989 Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Section 17-5, 17-310 and 17-322 for future reference.
