Antilock Brake Diagnosis


1. Verify that parking brake is fully released. If parking brake is applied, the BRAKE lamp will be illuminated. Check battery.
2. Check Brake Fluid Level as outlined.
NOTE: As the Fluid level falls, the red BRAKE lamp will illuminate. If fluid level continues to fall, the amber CHECK ANTI-LOCK BRAKE lamp will illuminate and the anti-lock function will inhibit.
3. Verify that all of the following connectors are connected:
- 7-pin connector of the solenoid valve block assembly.
- 2-pin connector of the main valve.
- 5-pin connector of the fluid level indicator.
- 5-pin connector of the pressure warning switch.
- 2-pin connector on all four sensors.
- 4-pin connector on the pump motor.
- 32-pin connector of the electronic controller.
- 5-pin connector of the main relay.
- 5-pin connector of the pump motor relay.
4. Check that the fuses and diode are not damaged.
5. Make sure all battery connections are clean and tight.
6. Check ground connections on front end of hydraulic unit and in luggage compartment.
