ISSUE:

The octane adjust shorting bar diagnostic procedures are incorrect as published in the 1989 Engine/Emissions Diagnosis Manual, Volume H, Sections 14-23, 14-25 and 17-289. The affected vehicles are the 1989 Ranger 2.3L EFI, 1989 Taurus "SHO" 3.0L SEFI and 1989 Thunderbird "SC"/Cougar XR7 3.8L SEFI Supercharged.
