ISSUE: About 3000 "AOD" transmissions built during October, 1988 have a new design direct clutch cylinder and direct drive shaft. The transmissions appear identical to other "AOD" transmissions on the outside but can be identified by the service identification tag located on the main control cover.
ACTION: If service is required, identify the "AOD" transmission by checking the code on the service I.D. tag located on the main control cover. The model designation for these unique transmissions are as follows:
PKA-DX 89 PKA-ED 89
PKA-EA 89 PKA-EE 89
PKA-EB 89 PKA-EP 89
