Automatic Temperature Control System

The control assembly consists of three main parts:

1. The function selector is a vacuum selector valve combined with three internal electrical switches.
a. The function selector vacuum valve directs source vacuum to various vacuum motors and connects the vacuum from the thermal blower lockout switch relay to the outside air-recirculate door in the FLOOR position.
b. Three single-pole electrical switches are controlled by the selector and they control the electrical supply to the A/C clutch and the blower switch.
2. The electrical blower switch, unique to the ATC system, provides three manual speeds and one AUTO position for blower operation.
3. The temperature control lever is connected by the control cable to the temperature sensor assembly. Movement of the control lever from 65° F to 85° F causes a corresponding movement on the preload (bias) portion of the sensor assembly, and determines the temperature that the system will maintain.
