1. Raise rear of vehicle and remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove brake drum and hub as described under ``Wheel Bearing, Replace.''
3. On hatchback models, place alignment marks on rear toe adjusting cam and control arm, Fig. 4.
4. On all models, place alignment marks on control arm and control arm bushing.
5. On all models, place alignment marks on each side of trailing arm and crossmember.
6. Remove stabilizer bar link, then remove stabilizer bar and bushings, Figs. 4 and 5.
7. Loosen inner and outer trailing arm bolts, then loosen spindle to strut unit attaching bolts.
8. Remove parking brake attaching bolt from rear trailing arm assembly.
9. Loosen trailing arm to strut attaching bolts, then remove control and trailing arm.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following;
a. When installing control and trailing arms, align all marks made during removal.
b. Torque strut unit to spindle and control attaching bolt to 69 to 86 ft. lbs.
c. Torque inner control arm attaching bolts to 69 to 86 ft. lbs.
d. Torque stabilizer bushing bracket bolts to 31.8 to 39.8 ft. lbs.
e. When installing stabilizer link bolt, tighten until .31 inch of thread is exposed beyond nut. After vehicle has been lowered to ground, retighten stabilizer link bolt.
