Compressor Clutch Relay: Description and Operation

The ECA uses the A/C cut relay to disengage the air conditioning clutch during power steering operation and on rapid acceleration. When the power steering is operated and engine speed drops below 500 RPM, the ECA will switch the A/C off. During rapid acceleration or at wide open throttle, the ECA will switch off the A/C for a period of approximately 16 seconds. If the throttle is released before 16 seconds has elapsed, the A/C will be switched on again after 3 seconds.
