Deceleration Valve: Service and Repair

NEUTRAL SWITCH, REPLACE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On manual transaxle, drain lubricant.
3. Disconnect wire from switch and remove switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install. On manual transaxle, refill transaxle to capacity.

CLUTCH SWITCH, REPLACE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove sound deadening panel from under steering column.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at switch, remove jam nut and clutch switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install.

RPM CONTROL MODULE, REPLACE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Pull back on front edges of center carpet panel, and disengage push pin retainers.
3. Remove nuts attaching module to floorpan, and remove module, Fig. 7.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
