Removal and Installation

1. Remove timing belt as described under ``Timing Belt, Replace.''
2. On models equipped with manual transaxle, place shift lever in fourth gear position and apply parking brake.
3. On models equipped with automatic transaxle, remove flywheel housing dust cover and hold flywheel in position using tool No. T84P-6375-A or equivalent.
4. On all models, remove crankshaft sprocket attaching bolt, then remove sprocket and key.
5. Remove oil pan as described under ``Oil Pan, Replace.''
6. Remove bolts attaching oil pump to engine block, then remove oil pump, Fig. 19.
7. Reverse procedure to install. When applying sealer to oil pump gasket, do not allow sealer to enter oil pump outlet port or engine block. Torque oil pump attaching bolts to 14 to 19 ft. lbs. Torque crankshaft sprocket attaching bolt to 80 to 94 ft. lbs.
