INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS REPAIR CODE "B"

NOTE: Repair Code "B" should be installed after conducting Inspection 2 with the vehicle lifted on a hoist and the oil pan removed.

1. Clean oil sludge from the oil pan.

NOTE: Cleansing must be done completely. Even a small amount of sludge remaining could promote sludging or blockage on the pick-up screen.

2. Apply sealant to the oil pan crankshaft openings as shown. (Figure G.) Install the oil pan with the new gasket supplied in Kit #2. Tighten to 6-9 N-m, (52-78 in.lbs.) of torque.

3. Install new oil filter.

4. Lower vehicle from hoist.

5. Replace the PCV valve. (Figure H.)

6. Fill with "SG" 5W-30 Motorcraft engine oil.

NOTE: When pouring oil, follow the Instructions on the "Caution Plate". Be sure to remove the "breather pipe" before filling the oil to prevent oil from flowing into the ventilation hose.
