1. Remove rocker arm cover.
2. Alternately and evenly loosen rocker shaft attaching bolts, then carefully lift rocker shaft assemblies from cylinder head.
3. Remove rocker arms and springs from rocker shaft.
4. Measure outside diameter of rocker shaft and inside diameter of rocker arm shaft bore. The maximum difference between these two measurements should not exceed .004 inch.
5. Assemble rocker arms and springs to rocket shaft, Fig. 3. Rocker arms and shafts can be identified as shown in Fig. 4.
6. Install assembled rocker shaft assemblies, with oil holes facing down, to cylinder head and torque attaching bolts alternately and evenly in sequence shown in Fig. 5.
