ISSUE: Musty odors inside the passenger compartment of five-door model vehicles may be caused by the interior door trim panels. The adhesive used in the assembly of the panels causes the musty odor.
ACTION: To correct this, install new door trim panels that use a different type of adhesive. Refer to the Tracer Shop Manual, Section 45-02 for detailed service procedures. After the new door trim panels have been installed, wipe the ENTIRE interior of the vehicle with Ford Multi-Purpose Cleaner. Entire vehicle refers to headliner, instrument panel, seats and floor carpeting.
CAUTION: The instruction on the Ford MultiPurpose Cleaner container MUST be followed exactly or fabric damage may occur.
