AIR DEFLECTOR-LOOSE OR MISSING

ENGINE-OVERHEATING-MISSING OR LOOSE AIR DEFLECTOR

ISSUE: Engine overheating may be caused by a missing or loose lower air deflector.

ACTION: Secure the loose air deflector or install a new air deflector. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. Check lower deflector area to see if deflector is loose or missing, Figure 1.

2. Remove the existing plastic retainers from the attaching holes and throw them away.

3. Determine if existing deflector can be reused or if a new one (8349) is required.

4. Position the air deflector on the vehicle.

5. Install new metal 1/4" rivets, Figure 1.
