ISSUE: A "popping" noise from the front door hinges during accelerating and braking may be caused by inadequate lubrication of the hinge assembly.
ACTION: To correct this, lubricate the door hinges with polyethylene grease using the following service procedure.
1. Position the front door all the way open.

2. Spray Ford polyethylene grease to the upper and lower front door hinges between the inner and outer hinge stamping at the hinge pin, Figure 1.
NOTE: Use the extension nozzle that comes with the polyethylene grease to aid in applying the lubricant.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the other front door hinge assemblies.
