WIRING - HORN PAD AND SPEED CONTROL SWITCH WIRE HARNESS - NEW ADAPTOR KIT

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1988 SABLE

ISSUE: A horn pad with speed control switches or a speed control switch that does not mate to the steering wheel wire harness connector may be caused by a change in the type of connector used in production. The production change involved a new design wire harness connector on the vehicle steering wheel harness and the speed control switches.

FIGURE 5:

ACTION: If service is required and the connectors do not match, install a service steering wheel wire harness adaptor to speed control switch kit (E84Y-9D821-A). This kit contains two steering wheel wire harnesses. One harness with a white connector and one harness with a grey connector. Refer to Figure 5 to determine which wire harness is required.
