Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Oil pump removal:

1. Remove oil pan. Refer to Oil Pump, Replace for procedure.
2. Remove oil pump attaching bolts,Fig. 8.
3. Remove oil pump and intermediate shaft.
4. If necessary, pull intermediate from oil pump.
5. If removed, install intermediate shaft into replacement pump until shaft retainer clicks into position.
6. Install oil pump. Torque attaching bolts to 30---40 ft. lbs.
7. Install oil pan.
