6P148 Six Cylinder Compressor
1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect compressor clutch wires from field coil connector on compressor.
3. Disconnect discharge and suction hoses from compressor manifolds.
4. Cap refrigerant lines and compressor manifolds to prevent contamination.
5. Remove two screws from rear support bracket. Remove three screws attaching compressor tab and front legs to front support. Remove screw from front of tubular brace, then the tubular brace.
6. Rotate compressor outboard (toward left side of engine) until compressor upper boss clears support.
7. Remove compressor assembly and rear support from vehicle as a unit, Fig. 37.
8. Remove attaching screws, then separate rear support from compressor.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
HR-980 Four Cylinder Compressor
1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect compressor clutch wires at the field coil connector on compressor.
3. Disconnect discharge suction hoses from the compressor manifolds. Cap refrigerant lines and compressor manifolds to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.
