Without A/C
REMOVAL
1. Drain the cooling system into a clean container.
2. Loosen the heater hose clamps at the heater core tubes and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.
3. Cap the heater core tubes to prevent spilling coolant into the passenger compartment.
4. Remove the glove compartment door, liner and lower reinforcement as outlined.
5. Move the temperature control lever to the WARM position.
6. Remove four screws attaching the heater core cover to the heater assembly and remove the cover.
Heater Case Assembly.:
7. Working in the engine compartment, loosen the two nuts attaching the heater case assembly to the dash panel.
8. Push the heater core tubes toward the passenger compartment to loosen the heater core from the heater case assembly.
Heater Core Removal:
9. Pull the heater core from the heater case assembly and remove the heater core through the glove compartment opening.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the heater core in the core opening in the case assembly with the heater core tubes on the top side of the end tank.
2. Slide the heater core into the opening of the heater case assembly.
3. Position the heater core cover to the heater case assembly. Install the four attaching screws. Tighten the cover attaching screws securely.
Heater Case Assembly.:
4. Tighten the two nuts attaching the heater case assembly to the dash panel.
5. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core tubes. Tighten the hose clamps to specification.
6. Fill the cooling system to the proper level with the correct mixture of coolant and water.
7. Install the glove compartment door, liner and hinge bar as outlined.
8. Check the heater for proper operation.
9. Check the coolant level after the engine reaches normal operating temperature. Observe all safety precautions.
